Snow Leopard
Its Amazing Adaptations:Snow leopards have a lot of adaptations that help them survive in an extreme environment. A snow leopard’s adaptation for the cold is their chest that draws in oxygen, and an ‘air filter’ in their stomach that turns cold into warm. Another adaptation that snow leopards have for the cold is their metre long tail that covers their body when they wrap it around themselves, their nasal cavity, small ears that can flatten and their thick coat. They have also adapted to the high mountains by having sizeable paws, short forelimbs, long hind limbs and a thick tail that helps them balance. They have adapted to the environment because of the fur under their paws, their ‘snow shoe’ paws and their short forelimbs. A way they have adapted to hunting is by their markings for camouflage and their great eye site to find more prey.
